King Plow

King Plow began manufacturing agricultural equipment west of Northside on West Marietta St. around 1902. King Plow also had buildings on Ashby St. now called Joseph E. Lowrey Blvd. King Plow Company engaged in metal bending and welding.

In the current complex is an area called “The Foundry” so it seems possible that they also produced carbon steel using a Bessemer Furnace to convert raw pig iron to steel, which produces a metal with higher strength.

King Plow produced a two mule harness used by farmers to pull the plow to prepare the fields for planting.
