Best Movers really in Atlanta

  • Real Georgia companies
  • NOT boiler room operations
  • NOT silicon valley schemes
  • Actual Atlanta Local Movers

Why it matters

Search engines do a poor job of seeing lists created for the purpose of selling boiler room operations and moving brokers, which we would suggest you avoid. Search engines also favor national franchises where a commission is paid off the top of every move to support national advertising efforts. We mention this because we agree with the sentiment of buying locally. While we admit that it’s fun to shop at Aldi or Ikea, these are not even USA corporations, and besides, it’s also satisfying to find a good value in groceries or furniture from local merchants that are more committed to Atlanta.

Real Atlanta movers

Inside the perimeter there are three major Atlanta moving companies. They all provide long distance services but are primarily local movers. They’ve all been in business a decade or longer, and they all do a good job of household moving.

  1. Mark the Mover. Of course.
  2. 24/7 Moving. Really concentrates on local moves, their trucks may be smaller but they are a major local moving company especially for apartment moves and other smaller moves.
  3. Atlanta Peach Movers. Atlanta Peach has a dispatch center near Georgia Tech. Although their main terminal is outside the perimeter, they deserve note as a company dedicated to Atlanta households and providing local moving services.

Honorable Mentions

  1. Peachtree Movers. Best office movers, with experience valuable when relocating those office cubicles and modular furniture that is part of many office relocation projects. They also do local household moving.
  2. The Buckhead/Bulldog group. Including Buckhead Movers, Bulldog Movers, Classic Design, and a few other brand names, and also slightly outside the perimeter, Bulldog has been around more than a decade and is worth considering.

Long Distance vs. Local Moving

We aren’t covering long distance in detail in our list, but recommend the larger van-lines, if one is needed, including Atlantic Relocation, Bekins, United, Allied, Sudath, and a few others.

Us smaller local movers also do long distance moving, and with a higher level of service mostly in the form of a quicker turn around, but sometimes at a higher price. And while the large and impersonal van lines may take longer, they are usually the best value for consumers. Feel free to get estimates from both types of moving companies.
